Beauty: Natural Deodorant

Going green – deodorant.

Deodorant is probably not the first product you think of when going all natural but why not. I tested several and so should you.

Most deodorants work to temporarily to stop you from perspiration, building up bacteria. This build up finds its way to your lymph nodes which can cause serious health problems. Going natural is something I became serious about three years ago. It is a process in finding products you love!

Perspiration (I know kind of gross) is life and it is healthy. Sweating is how our bodies release toxins and regulate our body temperatures. It is how we cool our bodies.

If you are ready to make the switch –  it all starts with a detox.

Detox: It may take several weeks for your body to adjust. It will take some time for your body to rid itself of bacteria build up. After the first week you will start to notice an odor. Sweat does not tend to smell. The ‘smell’ is bacteria on our skin. This is your body working to rid itself. After about four weeks you should notice your body start to regulate.

Tips:

  1. Get moving. Sweating helps the process.
  2. Avoid processed foods.
  3. Drink water.
  4. Clean under arms twice a day.
  5. Use a dry brush to increase circulation.
  6. Apply healthy deodorant as often as needed.
