Think about the most beautiful person you know. What makes them beautiful? Is it legs, hair, skin or is it patience, heart, joy and kindness. I can think of a lot of people who are beautiful on the outside but what matters most is the inside.
Do you want to be around someone who is pretty but puts others down or makes you feel bad about yourself. Or would you rather be friends that the world says is normal but spreads joy and always ask how you are?
I want to be friends with someone beautiful. This is something that I have really tried to work on in myself over the years, its easy when you’re around people to find yourself talking bad about someone. I am sure most of us have also been the one talked about and it doesn’t feel good. As I have gotten older, I realize it is a reflection of people’s hearts.
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.Proverbs 31:25-26, 30
I know its hard in the world today, to make our inside more beautiful than the outside. But get this…You are God’s number one draft pick! He doesn’t care what care about the label on your clothes or the brand of your purse. He cares about how you love others.
So, what kind of friend do you want to be?
